1. The tailwater disinfection of sewage treatment plants generally requires an overflow weir, also known as a water level control weir. The overflow weir has the function of maintaining the liquid layer on the plate and making the liquid overflow evenly. It is generally installed at the outlet of the open channel UV sterilizer and has the function of raising and stabilizing the water level.

The overflow weir can be fixed, made of stainless steel or concrete structure, and its height should be slightly lower than the water level to be controlled to ensure that the top row of lamps of the open channel (frame) ultraviolet sterilizer can be completely immersed in the water surface to achieve the purpose of effective disinfection and sterilization.
3、The water level control weir can also be adjustable, generally made of stainless steel, and is divided into two types: float type overflow weir and weight type overflow weir. Among them, the float type stainless steel overflow weir occupies a small area, adjusts the water level accurately, and is more commonly used.
Water level control weir/stainless steel overflow is often configured for customers together with open channel UV sterilizer. It also generally includes: UV disinfection module, master control cabinet, ballast cabinet, rectifier grid plate, etc. The above configuration needs to be appropriately increased or decreased based on the actual situation on site, flow rate and water quality.
