Short Description:

The core working principle of medium-pressure UV equipment is to emit ultraviolet rays covering a wide wavelength range (wavelength range 200nm~400nm), especially the UVC band (200~280nm) through a special medium-pressure mercury lamp. Ultraviolet rays can destroy the DNA or RNA structure of microorganisms, making them unable to reproduce and survive, thus achieving efficient sterilization and disinfection. In addition, the energy of ultraviolet rays can also cause the molecular bonds of organic matter to break and decompose organic pollutants, such as removing humus and odor substances in water.

Features

High durability light source system

The core is a medium-pressure mercury lamp, which has high power and wide spectrum output, and can continuously and stably emit full-band ultraviolet light. Some devices are also equipped with multiple mercury lamps to increase the intensity of ultraviolet radiation;

Reaction chamber

Problems of recycling nutrient solution in soilless culture

In soilless cultivation, the recycling of nutrient solution can save water resources and fertilizers, but it also brings new problems. The recycled nutrient solution may spread root diseases, especially in high temperature and high humidity environments, where pathogens are easy to breed. Therefore, the nutrient solution must be disinfected before use to prevent the spread of diseases.

Specific application steps for medium pressure ultraviolet disinfection

Filtration

The nutrient solution needs to be filtered through a 50-70 nm filter before disinfection to remove plant debris or other particulate matter and improve the sterilization effect;

UV disinfection

Use medium-pressure UV light for disinfection, ensuring a certain dose (100mJ/cm² to kill bacteria and fungi, 250mJ/cm² to kill viruses) to ensure the disinfection effect;

Effect verification

The effectiveness of ultraviolet disinfection is affected by the transmission factor of ultraviolet rays in the solution. Pathogens hidden behind suspended particles may be difficult to kill, so it is necessary to ensure that the nutrient solution is fully filtered before disinfection.
